Austin Eggleston is no stranger to hospitals. In fact, he spends months at Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago waiting for a critical message.
The 15-year-old from Pontiac, Ill., Was born with heart failure. It also slowed down its growth. However it did not stifle the spirit of the teenager. After being placed on a donor card for heart transplants, the patient patiently waits for a donor heart. During this time, he earned his reputation as one of the kindest and sweetest patients there.
"He's the kind of kid, even if he's sick," Dr. Phillip Thrush, pediatric cardiologist.
