Waking up in the morning can be a struggle, especially as the seasons change and it gets colder outside. We do not really want to face the day when we have to look forward to cold wind and rain. Staying in bed under a warm blanket seems like a much more pleasant choice. Few of us can afford to stay in bed all day. So we've come up with a list of the best morning exercises you can do before you go to work. These will wake you more effectively than a cup of coffee and prepare you for a good day.
1. stomach vacuum
Gastric Vacuum is a good exercise to do properly when you wake up before you have something to eat or water. You can even do it in bed. It targets deep core muscles and does wonders to strengthen your abs. All you have to do is exhale all the air from your system and then suck your stomach as much as you can. Image trying to touch your navel to your spine. Hold for 10 seconds. Relax and inhale. Repeat at least 3 times, and you will see that you can last longer with each passing day and your heart becomes stronger as your stomach flattenes.
Tomorrow stretches out
Before you do any real exercises, it is important to stretch all of your body parts after having slept for hours and barely moving. Take time to stretch your back, neck, arms and legs. Plus, it's a good excuse to stay in bed for 5 more minutes.
3. Jumping Jacks
A sure-fire way to wake up your whole body is to do some jumping jacks. We recommend about 100 jumping jacks, but if you've just started, 10 will be enough to wake you up and get your body moving.
4. Walk Out Plank
It's better than a stationary plank, because it not only targets your core, but you can also use your arms to balance out when getting in and out of the plank. Do this for about a minute or just 10 repetitions and you will feel your whole body working.
