21. Too good
Considering that none of the treasures were really involved in the sale of the dresser, Emil Knodell faced a major dilemma. Keep the priceless items either for yourself or return them to the next of kin. This was certainly a "too good to be true" scenario.
Emil could easily have kept the loot, but the people on the estate had already seen him open the secret fourth drawer and find the treasure in it. Another possibility was simply to return all the articles, as this would calm his moral conscience in this case. For Emil, however, this was a very simple question he did not have to answer.
