What makes a person attractive? It is a difficult question to answer, if you are honest. The media will make us believe that in order to be considered conventionally attractive, we must look in a certain way, dress in a certain way and behave in a certain way. It tells us that we are lost if we do not look like a model or a famous actress. It makes us think that we are ugly, that we have a whole series of problems, mistakes and imperfections that need to be addressed. It wears off our self-esteem and makes us feel worthless. And then it offers us a whole series of expensive solutions.
Exclusive gym memberships, personal trainers, juice cleansing, detox and fit teas are presented as a solution to the "problem" of our weight and our shape. As if it would make us magically lean, taut and taller in a month. Hair dyes and hot tools should help to solve the problem of our hair. Curl it up when it's straight, iron it when it's curly, bleach it blonde, or turn it into a redhead to make it look more attractive. Did you damage your hair? Here's a whole bunch of expensive hair treatments and hair masks that will fix this problem as well. Is your skin smooth, flawless and glowing? It's better to be here, so here are a few creams, gels, scrubs, serums and take a few facials for a good deal. And forbid any discoloration or unusual pigmentation. Hide this stuff with concealer, foundation, powder, contour, bronzer, highlight and a whole ton of eyeshadow and false eyelashes. Oh, and freckles are in now, but since they are buried under the full face of make-up, just put on eyeliner.
Once you're done with your face, it's time to fix this massive problem of unwanted body hair. There are a variety of ways to do this: shaving, waxing, tapping, sugaring, lasers, etc. And finally, you have to buy the hottest, most fashionable outfits and accessories and do not forget to make your nails too. And only after you've completed those many steps and spent a fortune could you have the chance to be considered "attractive." Or at least the media want us to think. But is that really necessary? Is not beauty in the eye of the beholder? Are not we all beautiful in our unique way? The truth is that you have to feel beautiful and attractive. It's about self-confidence, no matter what you look like. You need proof? Here we go.
