22. Relic of the Cold War
Lana could see from the shape of things that somewhere in the past, presumably during the Cold War, this tunnel line had formed a mine. To prove her point, she and her companion continued to bump into various objects that would have been used there: long-abandoned mining tools and handcarts.
The objects were messy and were randomly thrown around. Some stood solitary in the middle of the tunnels, others were stacked in disordered piles. Every device, every little hint of the history of this underground tunnel, was covered with dust, ice or frost crystals for years. Why were they given up so quickly?
