If you're afraid of heights, this latest attraction at Mahanakhon Skywalk is not for you. The glass floor at King Power Mahanakhon, the tallest building in Bangkok at 1,030 feet, is not for the faint-hearted. The installation hangs over the side of the building, giving you a fearsome view of the city.
Reach the platform
King Power Mahanakhon, a mixed-use project completed in 2016, will be open to the public on 16 November. The striking structure of steel and glass is characterized by the cityscape, a three-dimensional strip of "pixels" runs through the building. This construction is an architectural trick achieved through sky boxes.
The attraction starts on the 74th floor, which can be reached with the glass elevator in just 50 seconds.
Attractions begin on the 74th floor of the indoor observation deck, which offers 360-degree panoramic views from the ceiling to the ceiling. The view continues through the 78th floor, which includes a skywalk and an outdoor observation area called The Peak. This includes Thailand's highest located rooftop bar with champagne, cocktails and a fantastic sunset experience.
The view of the surrounding area is breathtaking, but it's nothing compared to a direct view of 1030 feet.
