Why Everyone Is Talking About The Disney Princess Cameo

The 21st century is the age of feminism. It’s on TV, in movies, and all over the news. We love it! What makes these occurrences even better is when we can lighten things up by joking about our past failings as a society. That’s exactly what the writers of Ralph Breaks the Internet were able to do. And they did it through the best Disney princess cameo in all of history.

The Sneak Peak

Disney recently released a trailer for Ralph Breaks the Internet. The animated sequel to Wreck-it Ralph features, unsurprisingly, a plot centered around the Internet. If the trailer is any indication, it is going to make for one hilarious film.

Its main characters, Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz, come across a variety of interesting characters as they explore the Internet. Just as Vanellope is starting to get bored, they enter the wonderful world of Disney.

The Ultimate Princess Room

That’s when Vanellope stumbles into a room full of all of our favorite Disney princesses, including Ariel, Jasmine, Mulan, Cinderella, Merida, Moana, and Rapunzel. As this fabulous princess cameo scene progresses, they begin to question Vanellope about her princess status.

They ask Vanellope humorous questions like, “Does everyone just assume all of your problems were fixed because a man showed up?” Each princess asks something unique to her own story, making this scene one of the funniest female empowerment discussions in existence.

Merida Breaks The Internet

Surprisingly, though, these questions aren’t the most popular part of the scene. That title belongs to a few lines spoken by Merida. Because her accent is so thick, none of the other princesses can understand her.

A screencap of her talking has become one of the most popular memes on the Internet. One of our favorite accompanying captions is, “YE CANNAE BREAK TE LAWS OF PHYSUCS JUM.” You can’t help but read it in a gloriously thick Scottish Highlander accent!
